According to a complex algorithm (below) created by Edleman JCPR (a UK marketing and PR firm), our own Tom Felton ranks as #86 of the top 200 celebrities on Twitter. That’s pretty amazing considering Tom only started his account a few months ago!
At #86, Tom weighs in right below Miley Cyrus and right above William Shatner.
JCPR’s calculation to determine “influence” is based not only on one’s number of followers, but also the number of times a person is “retweeted,” the amount of engagement one has with his audience (replying to them, and so forth), and the number of @replys are sent to that Twitterer (among several other things).
Edleman JCPR claims that they can use this index of influence to determine which celebrities are truly powerful in the media industry, and which celebrities can be the best endorsers of a product (*nudge nudge* Lush! How many new customers has Tom brought you? 
).
According to the article’s author, “If I was to spend my money trying to get a person to endorse a company I would instead focus on the person who was far more engaged and who other people found interesting.”
