New poster featuring Tom Felton in Tribute Magazine

A new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince poster featuring Tom with the “bad guys” is in this month’s Tribute Magazine out of Canada. Also included is a large feature on the entire Harry Potter series including synopsies of the all the films up to date, a list of characters, interviews with some of the cast, and a poster of the “good guys.” You can download the entire issue in .pdf format by clicking here.

I would recommend checking out the crossword puzzle on page 34. I don’t believe I need to tell you what the answer to 4 Down is. ;)

Review calls Tom Felton the “real star” of Half-Blood Prince

In a new review by The Daily Gamecock, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is held up as the best Potter film yet. The reviewer also calls Tom’s performance genuine and intense:

The real star of this film is Tom Felton, who plays the antagonist Draco Malfoy. In the previous films, Felton was seen sporadically and was merely the bully of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A big change has occurred for Felton’s character, however, and Draco has become a backbone of the film’s plot. Given an assignment by the Dark Lord himself, Draco fights his inner demons and overworks himself to complete the task at hand.

Felton’s performance is so genuine and intense that it makes the viewer sympathize for Draco and provokes personal feelings of distress and discomfort.

Tom Felton on Access Hollywood

Access Hollywood has released two clips of Tom behind-the-scenes of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The filming took place when they were filming the Knockturn Alley scene where Tom’s character Draco is being followed by Harry, Ron, and Hermione (Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson respectively). Tom is interviewed in this first clip, and the second is literally just cast and crew hanging about while they wait for a take.

UPDATE: These videos are from Hulu, so if they are unviewable in your country, you can try watching them here and here.

Nominate Tom Felton for “Best Movie Villain” in the Teen Choice 2009 awards!

Voting is going on right now for the Teen Choice 2009 awards! Tom has not yet been specifically named for any awards – but we have the chance to change that!

The contest currently allows for teens to “write in” a suggestion if we think someone has been overlooked. So, let’s all head over to the voting site and use the write in form to suggest Tom for an award!

We at Feltbeats.com would like to really push Tom for the “Best Movie Villain” award for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy in the recent Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” Unlike other villains nominated for the award, Draco is a complex, sympathetic character who, though his actions are dangerous and deadly throughout the film, still manages to win over the audience’s heart by the end of the film. His villainy is not by choice, but rather, it is thrust upon him.

In addition to “Best Movie Villain,” you could also nominate Tom for other awards! Some good suggestions:

- Best Celebrity “Twit” (Someone with a Twitter account – Tom has almost 100,000 followers now!)
- Best Web Star (Tom’s Feltbeats YouTube videos have been viewed millions of times!)
- Red Carpet Icon
- Best Male Hottie

Instructions

1. Go to the Teen Choice Awards 2009 Web site.

2. Register (only ages 13 – 19 may register).

3. Once you’re logged in, find the pink link toward the top of the page that says “Make a suggestion.” Click it!

4. Fill out the form to nominate Tom Felton for “Best Movie Villain” and whatever else you feel is appropriate.

5. Vote for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” as Best Summer Movie!

6. You can vote once per day – so keep going back and submitting another suggestion form!

7. Tell @TeenChoiceGirl on Twitter that you really want to see Tom Felton nominated!

Your votes pick the winners of the Teen Choice 2009 so be sure to tune in Monday, Aug. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX and see how your favorites did.

Any ideas to promote this contest and get more people to nominate Tom? Let us know!

Last week the Chicago Examiner newspaper ran a contest called, “Friday Smackdown,” where fans were asked which Harry Potter star was hottest. Guess who’s fans turned out in droves to carry him to a huge overwhelming victory? You guessed it, Tom Felton!

So, today the paper awarded Tom with a spotlight article called, “Get to Know: Tom Felton.” Check it out!

An excerpt:

Felton became internationally known as the pale, bleached bad boy from Harry Potter, which is why it may come as a shock to many that this man is actually a kind, true gentleman.

Update on Tom Felton’s planned World War II film, “Grace and Danger”

If you’re a fan of “Grace and Danger” on Facebook, you’ve been getting updates on Tom Felton’s planned war film, “Grace and Danger,” in which Tom is set to play a kind-hearted American soldier in World War II.

Tom’s character, Carnaby, and his fellow soldiers rescue a young woman named Élodie from a village massacre and plan to escort her back to safety. But during the perilous journey, the other soldiers seem to become quite “interested” in the girl, and Carnaby steps in to aid her.

Earlier today, the movie’s director, Rhys Hayward announced that some key confirmations would be made later this week:

A huge thank you to everyone who is supporting Grace and Danger – and to all the Harry Potter fans among you. You know who we want in the film, and how badly we want him!

Please continue to spread the word about G & D – should be an exciting week ahead. Maybe some sunshine here in the UK? Hope so!!!:)

Currently in the process of confirming key cast members as we set up meetings with distributors. An exciting week ahead – can’t believe it’s Tuesday already!
