Tom Felton interviewed by Scholastic.com

Scholastic.com posted a new interview today featuring Tom Felton and Bonnie Wright. They share their thoughts on JK Rowling,  parts they wish they could have filmed, and how important their roles have become in the final book.

Q: Are you both happy about the way your parts got more important in the last book?

Bonnie: Yeah I definitely was happy where J.K. Rowling took the character of Ginny. I think if we were all told at the first film where our characters would end up, I don’t think any of us would have imagined. It’s just really enjoyable and sort of unnerving at the beginning when you do read the last book.

Tom: Seriously. When that came out I was like, I’m not going to read it. I’m going to wait for the script. I don’t want to be reading bits in the book and thinking I can’t wait to do that and then find out it’s not going to be featured. And that lasted about an hour, and within it being released in a day I read the whole thing!

Q: Is there any particular scene from any of the books that you wish you could have filmed but wasn’t filmed?

Tom: They cut out actually very little. There was a thing in the second film where Jason [Lucius Malfoy] and I did a scene at Borgin and Burkes and it was the first time that it was father and son together. And that answered a lot to me why Draco is like that. Unfortunately it was never featured in the film. It was on the DVD as a deleted scene, so I got to watch it, which was cool. But no, everything else we’ve shot. Especially on these last two [films]. Everything — when I read the book I thought, “I can’t wait to shoot that.” It’s all there, so we’re very excited.

Q: How would you describe J.K. Rowling?

Bonnie: I always find it so surreal meeting her. This whole world literally is because of one person.
Tom: She’s a very unassuming down-to-earth lady, the most lovely lady. I was always taken away by how genuine she seemed, and how unaffected by the fact that she’s probably the world’s biggest author.

Q: In Harry Potter 6 everyone’s in love except Draco.

Tom: Oh what’s that? Can you believe it! I didn’t even realize all this stuff was going on because I was doing the whole evil walk down the corridor thing and when we saw the film everyone sort of. . .of course I’m jealous! I like to think Draco had offers but he was too busy with his evil task at hand.

Bonnie: Or they weren’t good enough.

Tom: This was it. Very high standards for Draco. I can’t imagine why any female on the planet would want to spend the day with him.

Q: Which of the other actors do you look up to?

Tom: I look up massively to Dan [Harry], Rupert [Ron] and Emma [Hermione]. I think they hold the fort single-handedly so well. They’re all superb actors and they carry the feature through beautifully. And they deal with it like it’s nothing! I know we’re all here quite a bit, but they’re here religiously. Endless days, and yet Daniel takes it all in his stride and absolutely loves it. I always admire watching him on set.

Tom Felton answers fan questions about tattoos, Jade, and more with the LA Times

Feltbeats.com was thrilled yesterday to get confirmation from Ministry of Gossip columnist, Matt Donnelly, that he would be interviewing Tom Felton the next day. Matt was extremely kind in allowing Tom Felton fans from around the world tweet to him with suggested questions, and then made their dreams come true by asking them to Tom himself!

Matt also asks Tom about his cameo in Jonah Hill’s film, “Get Him To The Greek.” Click here to read it all!

Here is an excerpt of the brilliant interview:

Tom Felton

MD: Are you following the “Twilight” phenomenon? That’s another young group of actors suddenly exposed to worldwide media attention. Any advice for them?

TF: I confess, I’m not the biggest [fan] of “Twilight,” but I came along due to my girlfriend. She’s fanatical about the books; I didn’t hear from her for two weeks when she was reading them. But Rob and everyone else are fantastic. They don’t need any advice from us.

MD: Speaking of your girlfriend, Jade, I know you’re both quite young, but it’s Hollywood. Any plans to make a bigger commitment?

TF: [Laughs] That’s a serious question! I would confess, we’re well and truly head over heels, but no. I’m in New York now and looking around for unique Christmas gifts for her.

MD: You have some very funny and devout fans. One of them asked about tattoos and piercings — do you have or want any?

TF: Never had a piercing, never had a tattoo. I don’t think they look good on anyone other than Megan Fox. … I once wanted to get my eyebrow pierced; my brother got it done and in a drunken night ripped it out. He’s got a hole there now.

There’s much more! Click here to read the full interview! And please, take a moment to leave a comment for Matt thanking him for allowing us to ask questions!

This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us, Voldemort – Tom Felton Reveals Final Scene Hint

In another MTV interview, Tom Felton talks about the last Fight Scene of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He describes it as being like a “western style showdown.” He also talks about what the end will be like. You can watch the interview on the MTV website.

Here’s the interview:

Tom Felton on MTV

It’s all been building to this: the battle to the death between Harry Potter and his Dark Arts-enabled adversary Voldemort on the hallowed grounds of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Devotees of J.K. Rowling’s boy-wizard series already know how the clash ends in the final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” but no one yet knows how it will be handled onscreen. Stay tuned until the summer of 2011, when the second part of “Deathly Hallows” arrives in theaters, to find out.

Until then, we’ll have to go on what its castmembers have to say. Stopping by MTV News to promote the DVD of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” star Tom Felton raved about the climatic combat scene and the way it brings so much of the cast together at once.

“It’s kind of cool, because this is the first time we’ve had so many castmembers on one set at one time, especially everyone from the evil camp and everyone from the good camp in a Western-style showdown — without revealing too much,” said Felton, who plays the nefarious Draco Malfoy. “It’s an amazing last scene, what we’ve shot of it so far. It’s very exciting.”

That’s not the only scene left to complete. The yearlong shoot was originally slated to wrap up at the end of April, but it’s now been extended well into June. Though the end is far off, Felton laughed that he, Daniel Radcliffe and the rest of the cast are looking forward to what should be a killer wrap party, a decade after they began filming the first movie in the series.

In the meantime, Felton is looking forward to returning to the “Potter” set across the Atlantic. “I’ve rarely had an opportunity to work with the evil family,” he said. “I’m working with Helena Bonham Carter, who’s a lovely lady and also a completely scary witch when she wants to be. I’m enjoying working with adult cast tremendously.”

Tom Felton gets Bravo’d again!

Thanks to @Silvereyes14 we know that Tom Felton’s MTV interview, which we previously reported here on Feltbeats.com, reached the Bravo.de audience today!

We know that the big question on everyone’s mind right now is will the original cast be aged to play their characters for the epilogue scenes, and this seems to be a common concern ’round the world! I know we here at Feltbeats.com want to see Tom playing a 19-years-older Draco Malfoy, and we can hope that the producers and directors feel the same way!
